Unsolved Underwear

Ewww your gross.. get your mind out of the gutter if you think THAT'S where I was going with this story... haha.. you are DIRRRTTYYY like the old Christina Aguilera, which I happened to like much more back then!

Usually everyone has their favorite "brand" or store to by underwear. Growing up in my teens and college I feel like it is Victoria's Secret.. which now I am NOT such a fan of.. can you say shrinkage and wedgie much??

A few years ago one of my friend's introduced me to Hanky Panky underwear. Obviously they looked super cool and she is usually the "trend" starter in the sense that she knows what she likes and finds some of the coolest things and introduces them to her friends and you can guess from there. So she tossed me a new pair and I tried them out (after washing them) and from then on it was love!!

SO... the issue has always been now what do I do about the underwear I wear for when I work out or to be blunt.. when my "friend" comes to visit me?!?

My mom got me a set of Haines, which haven't been too bad. I just bought 3 sets of jockey underwear(at the outlets and were still pricey for generic underwear.. I thought) 2 sizes bigger than what I usually am.. washed them and didn't put in the dryer cause I knew they would shrink even more.. and they are STILL tight! Comfortable.. but tight... hmm....

So I guess I am still on the prowl to find some good "casual undies". Which takes me to one of my favorite undies lines from the movie "Now and Then".. when the young teen girls steal their rival boys clan's clothes. It's the whole trailer, but the movie is SOOO cute it's worth watching the whole trailer....

Morning Fav

UGH... this post is basically useless because my Morning Fav is this new Michael Kors bag I got for 70%+ off!!!!!

I have been looking for a new go to bag for a little while now. I haven't really found my 'bag style'. I sort of go with the flow and what I'm into at that phase. For example.. I used to be obsessed with coach in college and now I'm not so much.. so I kept my 2 favorite really nice ones that could be "timeless" in hopes that one day I will like them again or my daughter (or daughter in-law) can see them as a vintage piece. But then I'm just as likely to walk into Target and find the bag of my dreams.. which has happened many many times with my totes and big bags! My 'go-to' bag right now is my Tory Burch Tote that I showed you all awhile ago. LOVE IT! It's not necessarily all about the "designer/brand name" for me although you could argue then why spend over $50 on a bag? VERY TRUE! That's why I said not necessarily : ) because sometimes I really do want a specific brand purse- like my Tory Tote or Kate Spade wallet.. so I think it just depends.

ANY WHO... I wasn't even at the outlets for bags this past week and found my self doing a drive-by into the Michael Kors store. Which, I don't think I would have ever gone in if it hadn't been for my MKors watch (which I didn't buy because it was MK... my original I got from Nordstrom and really liked it.. so if you like something sometimes it's safe to say stick with the company/brand). I probably would have been too intimidated by high prices and snobby sales people. NOT the case this past trip. Now my husband would argue well they were nice and personable because they wanted you to by their stuff.. well OK then.. it worked and we both left happy haha!! I applaud them for making a sale and boosting my self esteem!

Anyway this bag is super cute. It's their "Newbury Satchel" and it's white. It's leather, but has sort of "weave pattern" going on! I can't wait to use it!

Cranky and Creamless

OK so not to start the morning off on the bad foot..... but I am out of fru fru coffee creamer, WHICH I knew yesterday and just didn't get around to the market. The new coffee maker we have does have an option that froths the coffee, which is great and I tried to put some of that Stivia in it (which is NOT better than splenda people... my opinion alone.. I still have to put more in like I do with sugar- at least with Splenda I only have to splash a dash!) plus ff milk, but it just isn't the same. I see my neighbor's light on (and obviously she is up she has a 6-mo and 3 year old), but I am definitely contemplating going over to borrow some creamer!

I'll be the first to admit that although I like my caffeine I'm never gonna drink it straight up... no matter how good.. now maybe in 10, 15 years I'll change my mind, but for now I want my flavored creamer!!!!!

Food/Entertainment: 2-3 Glasses of Wine

You're probably thinking... what?!? But I was thinking about this when I took the dog for a walk last night. Depending on the evening (and the day I've had haha) sometimes I'll have a glass of wine (or two)! For me, it's a nice way to settle my day. Now, Kyle on the other hand, unless we are doing something doesn't usually drink during the week- which is fine to each their own.

For instance, last night after dinner and a very productive and activity filled day I had to do some "work" so I decided to pour me a glass of wine to help my "creative and expressive juices flow"! I would have had 2 glasses however my 2nd glass got knocked over by the pooch.

Then you have those Friday or Saturday evenings where you drink too much.. you just have that one extra glass of wine that may "put you over the edge" and you know!

So as I mentioned when I was pondering on my walk I just really thought and agreed with myself (nothing like boosting your own self-confidence) that when drinking wine sometimes that 2-3 range is the perfect amount to help you settle or socialize with friends, enjoy dinner (in or out) but not "feel it" too much the next day!

What's your "range"?

What's the Message?

For the past couple of days I have been having some "internet" issues. Automatically wanting to blame it on Comcast... surprisingly it was my trusty "Apple" geniuses that have been causing all the issues. After about 2 hours of going back and forth between Apple and Comcast we realized it was my "time capsule" (which out Wi-Fi passes through) and apparently a small amount of these models have been recalled. So the nice gent has decided to replace my time capsule and it should be here by tomorrow or Friday morning. Which is nice and all... but what am I suppose to do about internet connection?

OK I guess I can live with getting my emails through my iPhone, but it the 15-minute push isn't all that reliable and I write a lot of emails a day.

So now I have a make-shift office set up downstairs in the unused den. Our laptop is directly connected to the modem; I'm on a nice arm chair and "TV Dinner" table; Belle is in my face on the couch next to me because I am not in "her seat" and she doesn't seem to pleased"; and I have the desire to take a shower to cleanse myself as I am sitting next to our old bathroom (aka dirty old toilet.. vomit) because Kyle is now renovating the downstairs bathroom and the unused den is the designated storage spot.

So I figure I have 2 options... sit down in the dungeon (haha) all day just to be in front of the computer or stay up in the office and come downstairs on a need-be basis. The funny thing about this situation is this room will most likely end up being my office when we had kids but the wall color and less sunlight are definitely uninviting! Maybe this is a sign that I spend to many mindless minutes on the computer? That definitely hasn't been true the past two weeks, but I have been wanting to read this entrepreneurial book so maybe "someone" is trying to throw me a hint that once my work is done to do that instead of look at the bath towels I want..... just a thought!

Feeling Left Out?

Umm YES!!!! So for some reason this week my puppy is obsessed with Kyle.. which is good that they are bonding, but HELLO don't forget about Mommy over here! Needless to say I am feeling very left out!

What's funny is that I actually see this happen with kids and their parents. They go through different stages. The child, when they are younger, always want to be with the one parent that is home with them the majority of the time (or the nanny) and the other parent(s) end up feeling bad.. but it's just the way it is.

Then they start to get a little older, starting to be disciplined (and obviously not liking that at all) so they take to the one that isn't home. My one sister in-law referred to this stage as "Daddy is like ice cream... everybody loves ice cream". Which is actually a really good analogy! And then somehow everything works out and for the next 20 years they love you on and off at their leisure.

I can already tell my nephew doesn't think I'm as "cool" as I used to be! When he was 2 I remember calling my sister in-law and saying something to the fact "it's not fair, you're his mom and he will always love you and I'm just gonna be the annoying, weird aunt that is always calling him and wanting to hang out"!!!!! OK maybe a little over the top, BUT they do grow up SO fast! I'm still in the "cool aunt" stage with Lena and then will be with Faith... so hopefully my self-confidence will continue to be boosted over the next 5 years (and clearly it's all about me haha), but I will rack my brain on how to bribe Brady so he loves his Aunt Kiki again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Problem Solved

So did you all think I was losing my mind yesterday when I couldn't figure out my 1/2 caff dilemma?? I even wrote to the Tassimo customer service rep to offer my suggestion.

SO this morning it finally came to me when my coffee had finished and looked like such a small amount in my BIG cup... umm WAKE UP CALL (literally).... buy the DECAF discs and use 1 of each in my coffee cup and then I will have 1 cup each morning vs. 2....

WHO'S THE GENIUS NOW?!?!??!?

Morning Fav

So here is a new blog I came across a few weeks ago! I LOVE the message! The blog is actually called "How to Live a More Fulfilling Life". Who knows who this person is exactly, but they have some cool blogs and thoughts on life, self confidence, self importance, making yourself a better person, etc. and that can't be so bad, right?!?

Do people really change? I think that depends on the person and the situation. BUT if we don't have something to strive for... always trying to make a better quality of life.. it isn't necessarily "making ourselves better", because then that implies that there is something wrong.. which is OK. I'm talking about making ourselves and others feel good, happy, appreciated, special, etc. vs. putting other people down, jealousy, unhealthy competition, etc.!

Just a thought! If you have some time browse their blog (click on "morning fav" to go to it)

Excessive Emails

I kid you not when I say that I just counted and I sent out 71 emails and received 65 (no spam included) today alone!

HOLY COW!!!!!

And in saying that my new goal (that I have actually been true to) is to step outside of my comfort zone and call people instead of "hiding behind email" (as my boss likes to put it). I was on the phone all day and on top of that still sent that many emails out!

I am going to bed a happy and productive girl! Ciao!

Comcast Confusing?

I'm sorry but I never really understood why when you call Comcast with a TECHNICAL PROBLEM with your INTERNET and state first thing on the call that "you cannot connect to the internet", why they continue to tell you (over and over and over again) to visit them at "comcast.com"and continue there.

WHAT? How does that make sense? Not smart and just plain annoying!

But in their defense the 2nd customer rep tonight was super helpful and nice! However that doesn't make up for the ridiculously high priced bills we get and the mean 1st customer rep I had tonight that said and I quote.... "Ma'am unless you made the computer yourself there has to be a spot for the ethernet cord".... I was polite as possible and actually played myself down a little bit.... played the "poor me, I just can't find it" card, when I really wanted to say... and wish I had... "LISTEN ******* if I made the computer myself do you think I would be calling YOU?!? If I was that smart or electronically savvy I probably could fix the problem MYSELF! AND the fact that you insulted me with a passive aggressive tone is even more infuriating! NOW GIVE ME A DISCOUNT! Oh and PS- if you were a man I'd punch you in the face"!!!!!!!!!!

Follow Up to Tassimo

OK... so two cups later.. the only draw back for me (and this is personal) is that it's either ALL caffeine or DECAF no 1/2 and 1/2 mixture (that I know of)... maybe I should request this flavor. I usually had to make a 1/2 and 1/2 mixture because my tummy can get easily upset.

Food: TASSIMO Suprema Hot Beverage Machine by Bosch

When I say "HOLY COW" I mean "HOLY COW"!!!!!!! This product is AWESOME!!!! I have never been into the idea of the "one cup" coffee makers, BUT I do like "fru fru" coffee (i.e. Starbucks Skinny Vanilla and Chai Tea Lattes). Last week I ran out of some coffee and went over to my neighbors for an afternoon cup and to my surprise had the best home made "fru fru" coffee ever... when I pulled my cup out it was frothy (in a good way)!!! Thinking nothing of it, besides the fact that I loved it and it could be a great alternative to spending $4 daily at Starbucks haha, I went back on my merry way.

Well... come last Friday morning, up at 5am to finish a project for the boss-man and my coffee pot breaks... AGAIN... now I am sure I'm not the most gentile person in the entire world, but come on... chipped in the same exact spot.. AND I still needed my coffee, so in the snow, I ventured out to get a Venti, triple, SVL and my tummy was in shambles all day.. NOT GOOD!!!!

Well these two incidences had to be a "sign" that it was meant to be for me and Mr. Tassimo.. right? So, Saturday I ventured out to BBB (the one in Wynnewood!!) and put on my "this is not acceptable face" returned my old coffee machine and got the new Tassimo one cup PLUS 20% off the full price.. I mean HELLO.... deal or no deal?!?! Umm.. SOLD!!!!!!!! I spent yesterday setting it up and had my first homemade cup this morning and am headed down for my second.. YUMMYYY!!!!!

I bough the Carmel Machiatto for Kyle and the FF Vanilla Cappucino for me to try!!!!!

Morning Fav

Entertainment: This picture

* Click on the "Morning Fav" to see the pic

So this morning's blog is a little different. My good friend emailed me this link, which has now made my day! You all know my obsessive personality can take over and especially when I am watching a movie and want the actors to be their characters in real life. Does this make sense? For example...... this little Pop Sugar link of Mr. Ryan Reynolds and Ms. Sandra Bullock. They are SOOOO freaking cute together!!!!!!!!!!!

As my friend duly noted.. "I want him to look at me like that".... my response, sad but true.. that is NOT real life...that doesn't happen. OK so maybe it does for some people at certain times. Anyone can admire and love someone for 5 minutes (haha that was so pessimistic, sorry!)!

I would even bet in that picture he is making some wise a** comment.. I see those eyes.. those are his "joking eyes"... but when you think about the movie and their characters you could totally interpret that he is looking at her in a "gaga" way!!!

Anyway it is a really cute pic so I wanted to share.. the only thing is I don't know how to attach the pic anymore unless it's on a link!!

Brick

For those of you that have known me since my adolescent and late teen years know that sometimes I am drawn to more for depressing music.

It's like that song (that I actually think I have blogged about) in "Bad Day" where they talk about listening to sad songs when you are sad..... which I think to a certain point is really good because it allows you to feel what you are feeling and get it all out (hopefully) and then move on.

Well after a "gorgeous" morning out of "nowhere" came these "sad feelings".

I mean our morning was SO amazing.... we got to stay in bed later than we have in years and heading out in the windy brisk brisk brisk day to take Puppa for a walk (which felt SOOOO good all snuggled- new north face jacket and ear muffs- those things are MAGICAL.. I'm NOT kidding.. they keep me SOOO WARM), coffee in hand and the air just hitting your face.

But I think it was coming back in to have to take down all the Christmas decorations that made you feel SO good when you were putting them up.. can sort of be a little depressing... especially when the day is all cloudy and gray out!

And all of a sudden this song that I used to listen to all the time popped in my head... "Brick" by Ben Folds Five:

So I "you tubed" it, watched the video, listened to the lyrics, sang along a little, got it "all out" and moved along my merry way!

Do any of you remember that song?!?
